约翰·丹佛（John Denver）于1943年生于美昌携丛国西南部的新墨西哥州罗斯维尔城。那是美国南方的一个终年阳光灿烂的城市。1971年《Take Me Home, Country Road》的成功让丹佛成为著名的乡村音乐歌星。1974年，成为美国唱片最畅销的艺人；1976年，开办自己的唱片公司；1997年10月12日，在加利福尼亚海湾因飞机失事不幸身亡，终年53岁。

人物生平

1943年，生于美国西南部的新墨西哥州，从小隐好喜爱约翰·丹佛音乐，显露出良好的音乐素质。

1955年，祖母送他一把吉布森F孔纯音爵士吉他，开始学习音乐。

青年时代在大学攻读建筑设计专业。

1964年，大学毕业，开始在各民谣俱乐部演出，与新**乐人(NewChristyMinstrels)组合主唱兰迪·斯巴克斯结下了深厚的友谊。

兰迪还专门为丹佛写了一首歌"这条路"("ThisRoad")，希望丹佛能有更好的未来。

1965年，查德·米歇尔三重唱(ChadMitchellTrio)主唱离团，他经过当时知名的四兄弟合唱组(TheBrothersFour)推荐，通过试唱成为了新的主唱，并开始随团在各大学巡回演出。

1967年，与安妮·玛塔尔(AnnieMartell)结婚，但由于生理问题无法生育，于是先后领养了一子一女。

1976年，开办了自己的唱片公司。
